Attribute Quality Assurance (AQuA) is a program that has been designed to ensure that quality standards are met for customer-defined 'Critical Attributes'. AQUA involves the 'Critical Attribute Review' – the process in which Critical Attributes are identified , Coder Qualification – the process in which geocoders must demonstrate their knowledge of the specification associated with the Critical Attributes, and Quality Inspections – the process in which the quality of Critical Attributes is checked in the map database. This site is dedicated to the Coder Qualification process.
Becoming “qualified” on a Critical Attribute requires the completion of knowledge test at minimum. These knowledge tests will vary in length according to the complexity of the Critical Attribute and the number of Critical Attributes grouped together (e.g. Lanes qualification includes Lane Category, Lanes From/To and Physical Number of Lanes). The knowledge tests will focus on the D&A Rules associated with a Critical Attribute. Additionally, there will be a simulated coding evaluation for Critical Attributes the consistently perform poorly during the Quality Inspection process. Critical Attribute Qualification expires after 12 months, at which point re-qualification is required.

TRAINING MENTORS
Peer mentoring has been identified as an area that requires significant focus in order to ensure database quality. To properly prepare yourself for the mentor role, it highly recommended that you complete 4 online training modules available on HERE U online training modules. These 4 modules include Getting Ready to Coach, Building the Coaching Relationship, Conducting the Coaching Sessions and Using Different Coaching Styles.
MENTORING & QUALIFICATION
This SOP provides you with step-by-step instructions to complete the end-to-end process of AQuA mentoring and qualification. Whether you are a manager, a mentor, or a geographer, this document will supply you with the information you need to complete your role in this important process.
MENTORING CHECKLIST
A checklist has been designed to support you in your role as a mentor. It will be used to help you organize your mentoring activities and track the progress of your mentee as they prepare for their qualification attempt.
QUALIFICATION TESTING
After mentoring has been completed, Qualification testing will be administered and tracked using HERE University. A complete list of the testing curricula can be found on the Content Server using the link below. Additionally, managers will be able to monitor and track the qualification progress of their team using HERE U reporting functions.
